The new Skoda Fabia is set to enter markets by early 2014. Learning from past experiences and unlike the narrow and tall version of Fabia available in market currently, Skoda has ensured that 2014 Fabia will be wider and lower, reports idnes.
2014 Fabia will be launched in two body types, a compact hatchback and a roomier estate. The hatchback Fabia will be within 4 mts in length and is expected to be launched in India by second half of 2014. If you can recollect, launch strategy of the new Fabia is similar to that of the new Octavia. 2014 Fabia will first be showcased in Skoda’s home country, Czech Republic and then will head to countries across the globe.
Unlike the present variant of Fabia, the 2014 version will come in with enhanced aerodynamics and a host of driver assistance features. A new set of improved safety features will also be seen in the 2014 Fabia, which include emergency braking. For your entertainment and navigations needs, 2014 Fabia will also offer a new multimedia linking system that can be connected to your smartphone.
2014 Skoda Fabia is expected to come in with a longer wheelbase which will add to interior space. Boot space will be increased from present 315 liters to 350 liters. Engine options expected, include a 3 cylinder TDI diesel engine and a 1.2 liter petrol engine both offering 80 bhp peak power.
Apart from this, Welsch also revealed that Skoda is working on a seven seater three row Yeti SUV variant. As far as 2013 is concerned, Skoda fans will next get to see a new variant of Rapid, called Rapid Spaceback, after which Superb facelift and Yeti facelift will be revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, Welsch added. All these launches are part of Skoda’s promise to launch six new cars in 2013.
