Die A1 ziet er naar mijn mening niet echt klein uit, wat ik eigenlijk wel verwachte . Als de UP van VW ook in die groote terecht komt is dat dan voor skoda en seat ook zo groot . Ik had eerder aan iet in de trend C1 , 107 en aygo gedacht van grote . Ik had de vroegere lupo in gedachten en daar dan een moderner jasje omheen , dus misschien wel iets groter maar zeker niet in die mate dat hij in de zin van een oude polo komt qua grote .

Op het internet werd gesproken dat de Skoda UP, de naam Joyster zou krijgen, maar nu verchijnen er ook steeds meer berichten , met name op Indiaase sites , dat hij de naam de oude naam ,Popular zal gaan krijgen, en dan zal de naam Joyster misschien zijn voor het model dat tussen de Fabia en de Octi gaat komen.

Skoda is planning for a bigger hatchback that will accompany between the Fabia and the Octavia and plans to make a low-cost Octavia for India and other Asian countries.
Skoda will get into the small car to directly meet the rivals like Fiat Topolino, Toyota iQ and Smart Fortwo while on the other hand, a low-cost model could be meant for Indian consumption.
Skoda new Pune facility will manufacture both Volkswagen and Skoda cars point out a strong possibility of it being manufactured alongside the Up! in the future.
The Skoda Popular will be 3.5 meters in length, short enough to qualify for tax benefits.

Inmiddels lijkt het vorige bericht van Hetzer alweer achterhaald te zijn, volgens autoblog dan tenminste.

Volgens nog niet helemaal bevestigde berichten uit Tsjechie zou die nieuwe kleine auto, die met hoogwaardige techniek en een lage prijs uitgerust moet gaan concurreren met de Aygo-klasse. City gaan heten. Naar het zich laat aanzien krijgt de kleine Skoda een volledig eigen gezicht, maar is onderhuids wederom alles afkomstig uit de magazijnen van het moederconcern. Dat zorgt voor herkenbare betrouwbaarheid, lage emissies, zuinig verbruik en lage onderhoudskosten.
Voor Skoda is het een nieuwe klasse waar men nooit eerder acteerde. Traditioneel bouwt het merk al vele decennia wagens met een lengte van rond de vier meter waarin een heel gezin kan worden vervoerd. De kleine auto zou ook worden uitgerust met twee portieren en een achterklep en dat is ook al weer een noviteit voor het Tsjechische merk dat ruim ene halve eeuw vast heeft gehouden aan vier portieren en een grote kofferbak.
De City zou in 2012 op de markt moeten worden gebracht en het ziet er naar uit dat de auto tijdens de Autosalon van Geneve in dat jaar zijn debuut zal maken. Het zou mooi zijn als de lijnen van het ooit tentoongestelde studiemodel Joyster in de nieuwe City verwerkt zouden worden. Daarmee gaat de kleine Skoda vast nog meer opvallen tussen de vele gelijkvormige kleine auto’s die op dit moment onze wegen bevolken.

Officieel is de naam nog steeds niet bekend, Joyster is afgevallen dat word de nieuwe Coupe, namen zoals City, Felicia-2 en de roemruchte naam Popular circuleren nog steeds op het internet.

3,5 m is ook niet zo klein dat je hem overal kwijt kan.
Een 1L benzine motor of 1,2 L dieseltje heeft iedereen. Met 800 kilo rijdt het wellicht op 2L/100 km (op papier dan).
Hmmm ... waar zit het geheime vakje voor de BEER en boodschappen tasjes???
En als je toch als stadsauto wil profileren, zou ik hem op elektrische motor laten draaien. En maakt hem zo goedkoop dat de grote steden hem als OV kan inzetten.
Dan kunnen we zeggen ... Je bent er, met een Skoda. :24:

Oh , wat jammer dat het niet zoals de joyster geworden is . De joyster zag ik zowel van vorm als van naam echt wel zitten . Dit is terug zo'n braaf iets , wel een typische skoda neus , maar de joyster was speelser , jonger vond ik. Nu nog een foto van de achterkant , zodat we dit ook nog eens kunnen bewonderen en hopen dat dit enigsinds beter mee valt als de voorkant , want die vind ik vrij braaf .

Ik heb ff google open gezet en gezocht naar de nieuwste telg van skoda om een foto van zijn kont te vinden , maar tevergeefs . Ik heb wel iets opmerkelijks ontdekt . Namelijk eentje met 5 deuren .
Nu nog enkele zoals hierboven al staan , met 3 deuren dus .
